Students in Enterprise

Internships represent an excellent opportunity for training and interaction between the world of business and Centrale Marseille. They are a key element in the training programme for Centrale Marseille Engineers and have been incorporated in their curriculum as a requirement for all students to spend time in the world of business.

Year 1

Year 1 internships provide students with an initiation for their professional life and an opportunity to understand how enterprises operate and their socio-economic environment.
Duration: 1 to 2 months (4 to 8 weeks)
Period: July-August

Year 2

Year 2 internships are expected to give students the possibility of carrying out a project with which they can reveal their capacity for taking responsibility for conceptualization and/or operation of approaches, methods and procedures involved in organizing, planning, controlling, stimulating and leading a team, as well as allocating resources.
Duration: 2 to 3 months (8 to 12 weeks)

Year 3

This longer internship, at the end of their studies, seeks to place students in a real professional position of engineer in industry or research. They can take charge of an entire technical project or participate in ongoing research and development. The Final Dissertation (TFE) requires the writing of a dissertation with a viva before a jury (lecturer, coordinator of specialised cursus, coordinator of engineering speciality, and if possible, representatives of business and/or industry).
Duration: 4 to 6 months (16 to 24 weeks)

First Employment

As generalist engineers, Centrale Marseille graduates will, throughout their career, take on a wide range of posts and be involved in a variety of activities.
The objective is to provide students with a strong understanding of the world of business.
The focus is on :

  • taking responsibility,
  • demonstrating leadership, polyvalence and adaptability.
